Getting Started with CSS

CSS stands for "Cascading Style Sheets" and is responsible for the design (Styling) and layout of web pages.

The main features of CSS are as follows:

  1. Applying Styles: Applying styles such as color, font, and margin to HTML elements. It embellishes the web page attractively.

  2. Selectors and Properties: Use selectors to target specific HTML elements, and grant properties that define styles for those elements.

  1. Hierarchical Styling: The term "Cascading" signifies that web page styles are combined through various layers. Therefore, multiple styles can be applied in a layered fashion according to their priority.

  2. Responsive Web Design: Implement responsive web designs that adapt to various devices and screen sizes using CSS media queries.

If HTML forms the skeleton of a web page, then CSS can be considered as the role of dressing up that skeleton.
